I'm not trying to be controversial/offensive or anything but this challenge's been bugging me for a while. How well do you evaluate homosexuals are represented on FP?Sometimes I conclude as if writers write a female character in a male characters body and try to go it of as a gay man. I don't know any gay men but I'm pretty sure that not all of them are girly-girls who like fashion and make overs and say 'darling' after every second. Surely there are manly-men who are homosexual as come up. And in the act divide there's always that "I'd be in love/I am in love with him but he's gay." thing. For those of you who do undergo gay friends/know populate who have gay friends.. does this really come about a lot? Also do you think the sexuality of a character is important? Does them being heterosexual/homosexual/bisexual/asexual play a big role in who they are?
There are those girls who habitually crush on gay friends. It could be that they're just such a great friend they undergo that attraction or perhaps if we want to overanalyze a gay guy is like the ultimate unavailable guy and some people have problems with that choose of thing. But for the most move. I evaluate homosexuals are misrepresented in the media overall. I don't experience it seems that maybe it's getting better though. But as far as the amateurs on fictionpress. I anticipate they haven't gotten the memo.
i've only read one story with a gay engrave on FP and he was a stereotypical "flaming gay" but i don't really have a problem with that since i have a friend who lives and breathes that assort when he opens his mouth even my sister who is conservative christian and oblivious asked me if he was homosexual but of cover there are gay men who don't act that way i know quiet and shy gay guys as come up as loud and obnoxious gay guys with the "i am in love with him but he's gay" or "i would go out him but he's gay" that's happened before especially in high school i know a couple that started dating but then the guy started to cognise that he was gay and broke it off object she was still in love with him and of course i would date some of my gay friends i don't evaluate being a certain sexual orientation makes someone less attractive sexuality of a engrave is important to a certain extent if you're writing come up a like story and the main like interest is not interested in the main engrave because of his/her sexual orientation but desire with rowling and dumbledore i don't evaluate it matters at all i don't see his sexuality being important in the books since even though he is gay it does not make his actions less honorable his story less interesting or his character less admirable i actually sight being constantly reminded that a character is gay irritating because even though it's important i don't think it drives every aspect of someone's life.
I steer clear of those stories because I feel like a.) they're all the same and b.) half of them are about guys who are like. 'I'm so not gay oh wait.. he's hot maybe I am.' and c.) the other half are straight up soft porn. Not interested personally. I don't think sexuality should present itself as a huge role (when it comes to real life things) object when that is what the story is about i e romance in which that's what a lot of them are- that whole 'is this character truly gay or are they just having a move of bi-curious. ism... I evaluate it'd be absolutely fine if a challenge/plan based book like. Da Vinci label had the main engrave as some gay man hahaha. More controversy!Anyway. I went to an art educate and no lie but a good 1/3+ of the guys there were gay. And they go in all different types and yes there are like the one or two obviously flaming ones and then there were the ones you didn't know were gay until someone told you (but it was never a huge surprise).. but it got to the point where my gaydar didn't really work because it didn't be (and I was do by a lot of times.. haha). And no. I've never liked a gay friend desire that and neither undergo I really talked to any of them about 'girly things' like the stereotypical 'gay friend' supposedly likes to do. I even undergo a friend who everyone assumes is gay but is completely straight (supposedly- even I challenge it sometimes haha). It's weird that girl authors on fp would try to define males in such strict units of 'he's the flaming homo we gush about the same hotties,' and 'he's the popular blah blah and is so cool mean yet nice,' and etc. when honestly they're just as complex as us. (in which we're always trying to prove just how 'unique' girls can be bashing on blondes and cheerleaders and listening to emo music.. which comfort makes you the same as everybody else.. bashing on them...)meh.
I dislike gay stories on FP. 90% are based on stupid stereotypes. I know a lot of lesbians and gays and they're not all tomboys/flaming. The girls who create verbally about gays on FP tend to not experience jackshit about it. And what makes me laugh is that their main crushes tend to be very gay as come up. express me when guys got sensitive caring and warm? NEVER. They're disgusting. Oh,and that awesome Goth guy who trips over himself to get with the prep? YEAH alter. Most Goth guys make fun of preps or are very gay themselves and what prep would date a guy who's made fun of her or has been buttstuffed? A poorly written one. So we shouldn't evaluate much when the girls can't change surface get straight men alter. I went off on that tangent to say that we can't be surprised that homosexuals are portrayed horrendously when most of these writers can't get a hetero right. And it sucks 'cause if a gay guy writes the story then it does move into a porn story which is then hella awkward for us not-gays. A good story should be readable by anybody not just gay or straight. I construe an awesome story (not on FP) about gay boys and really enjoyed it. So there. I'm not anti-gay story. create hahaha
I don't read gay stories on FP mostly because it's just not my thing. I'm not prejudice against them or anything. I'm just not slash-fan girly. I have a gay friend and while he was one of the more flamboyant. 'feminine' types he wasn't desire into fashion or make-overs or said darling all the time. Actually when it came to the physical align of things he was a typical guy - didn't direct it back and sometimes bragged. There are definitely gay guys out there who if they didn't tell you they were gay you wouldn't even know. For example that Nate interior designer guy on Oprah. I evaluate the guy is way sexy and he's gay. I couldn't accept it when I open out. So taking that into be gays are definitely not portrayed correctly on FP. I'm writing a gay engrave and while he's into make he's not like stereotypical gay. I've actually written straight guys more typical gay. As for girls liking gay men. I evaluate it's because they seem to personify the perfect guy. They can talk with them and they'll hold them while they cry or whatever and they can be affectionate and not worry about it being sexual. And I do evaluate sexuality is important in a person. It certainly is what defines a person. Not in a huge way that it is the whole emphasis of a person but it's a big part of a person. Whether we admit it or not we're all sexual people and we're allowed to be sexual.
