I'm not sure what it will take for populate to understand ENDA. This account in its original form represented the cornerstone of American ideology giving people the opportunity to succeed based on their abilities not their appearance or family. Yet the twisted opposition and actions by congress undergo done nothing to advance the American dream and have only served to check the potential this account has. As it stands now. ENDA is useless.
The most disgusting move about ENDA is the opposition. Religious blogs and publications continue to insist that ENDA will give some sort of special privileges. The stated "Under ENDA an unsubstantial sexual orientation shield could be claimed by employees facing develop for various types of workplace act. For example a worker confronted with act such as absenteeism sexual harassment of other employees dress code violations and inappropriate talk or care could affirm that he or she was disciplined for their misconduct simply because the person was a gay or lesbian..."Of cover statements like this defy logic as one could already affirm harassment for any number of reasons including age sex or go but apparently there is some reason to be more afraid of this from gay or transgender populate. However their reasoning is never really explained but when you're trying to promote some sense of worry logic is obviously not your main concern. And of cover when logic flies out the window you can pretty much say anything you be. The Family Research Council an organization with the overarching goal of ending homosexuality disrupting homosexual families and pretty much making life miserable for anyone or anything gay has done a marvelous job contradicting themselves. On the one hand they have titled "ENDA the Line for a Non-Sexualized Workplace?" which would seem to indicate that ENDA is adding sex to the work environment. And on the other transfer they have a talking about how "Marital Quality Influences Job Satisfaction."But how can their goal of disrupting homosexuality and their belief that a happy family makes a happy worker be beneficial in the workplace? Obviously they see some benefit to happy relationships in the workplace but for some cerebrate that just doesn't bear on to gay people. But hey that is what manifold standards are for right?Let's face it. All ENDA does is say that people can't be fired for their sexuality. (And also provides exemptions for religious organizations.) These people didn't carry sex into the workplace; they brought their family just like anyone else in this country. But instead of trying to back up families organizations like the Family Research Council have decided to twist the issue. And unfortunately they undergo been effective enough to make ENDA practically useless in it's current form.
It's sad but true. The current version of ENDA is broken. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Wi) stripped out the one provision that made ENDA really bring home the bacon gender identity and expression. Groups desire the FRC are promoting their fear based on the idea that gay populate ordain "flaunt" their sexuality. And what does that mean? Gay men acting girly. The problem with this is of course that it is an expression closely linked to gender identity. Lesbians are stereotyped as mannish while gay men are stereotyped as feminine. Without the provision for gender identity and expression gay populate can still be stereotyped and fired. Of course the savvy employer and their team of lawyers won't say it had anything to do with the employee's sexuality (or job performance for that be). Instead they ordain say that they are firing a man for acting too feminine or a woman for not acting female enough. And chances are they will neglect to have in mind that their definition of "manly" is dating women. Without the gender identity furnish gay populate are just shooting themselves in the foot. And on top of that transgender populate deserve the same rights and protections as everyone else. If they can do their job come up why should they suffer it over something unrelated?Besides think about block. It wasn't just a bunch of gay men standing up for themselves.
